  17. Exploring Hawai'i Today will enhance your knowledge of the islands and
  18. travel experience. We have designed this product to provide you
  19. with hundreds of high quality still images and video of popular
  20. and exotic locations of the islands. Additionally, there are many
  21. Bed & Breakfast Hosts described in detail for your exploring pleasure.

  24. appropriate computer and software configuration.

  36. Sound Driver Requirements
  37. -------------------------
  38. Older sound cards and/or a few of the new sound cards come with 
  39. drivers that may have to be updated before operating with the
  40. sound clips on this CD ROM.  If your system does not playback 
  41. sound from this CD ROM, it may not have the latest sound driver 
  42. installed.  Please refer to your sound card manufacturer for support.  
  43. We have made every effort to support the widest possible base of 
  44. existing sound cards.  We are unable to provide support for sound 
  45. driver updates to your system.
  46.  
  47. Note:  The music clips found on this CD support the latest wave table
  48. sound cards to take advantage of the increased fidelity of the new
  49. generation of sound offered by these systems.
  50.  
  51. Known Operating Characteristics
  52. -------------------------------
  53. In order to minimize changes to your computer, we have included a
  54. temporary cache for each toolbook loaded (the main menu and each
  55. island).  This will cause additional startup and load time when 
  56. switching between islands and the main menu.  However, we believe
  57. that the small inconvenience is worth it for overall performance.
  58. The data contained on this CD ROM is over 500 megabytes.

  61. Still Image Requirements:
  62. -------------------------
  63. For optimal presentation of the images contained on this disc
  64. we recommend that your system have a minimum SVGA video adapter which 
  65. produces a 640X480  resolution using 256 colors and 1 megabyte of onboard
  66. memory.  This program will also support 800x600x256 resolution or 32K color.

  68. Attention:  If your system is not displaying correct color, contact the 
  69. video board developer and request the latest video display drivers for your
  70. board and system.

  73. Video For Windows version 1.1D:
  74. -------------------------------
  75. To ensure that you view the highest quality video we have provided
  76. Video for Windows version 1.1D as an option to install on your computer.
  77. To install Video for Windows version 1.1D:
  78.   1) Insert the Exploring Hawai'i Today disc into your CD-ROM drive.
  79.   2) From the Program Manager File menu, choose Run.
  80.   3) In the Command Line box, type d:\bb\vfw\setup.
  81.         If you are using a drive different from "d", substitute the
  82.         appropriate drive letter.
  83.   4) Click OK, then follow the instructions on screen.

  85.   After the installation is complete, restart Windows.

  88. Optimum System Recomendation
  89. ----------------------------
  90. For the highest image quality and playback, the following system 
  91. requirements are recommended:
  92.  * System RAM: 8+ MB
  93.  * 486/33 processor
  94.  * SVGA video adapter which supports a minimum of 640X480 resolution
  95.    and 256 colors with 1 megabyte of onboard memory.
